Performance
Choose the performance of your Sorento by choosing the engine of your choice. There are hybrid engines and conventional engines. All conventional engines are paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission, while all hybrid engines have six-speed automatic transmission. The standard engine available is the inline four-cylinder 2.5-liter engine with 191 horsepower. If you need more power, the 281-horsepower 2.5-liter turbocharged engine is available.
Similarly, two engines are available: a gas-powered engine and an eco-friendly hybrid. The former has an electric motor of 66.9 kW and a 1.6-liter turbocharged engine, while the latter has an electric motor of 44 kW and a four-cylinder 1.6-liter turbo engine. Hybrid engines are generally safe for the environment due to low carbon prints.
The design of a plug-in hybrid engine is also underway. The 2021 Kia Sorento also has towing capabilities, making it the most convenient SUV to have for adventures such as canoeing with your family. It can tow a maximum of 3,500 pounds of payload. However, hybrid engines have a lower towing capacity of 1,653 pounds.
